GEM Hierarchy

The hierarchy of information in GEM is encoded by the nesting of tags. This conceptual structure of GEM can be depicted as a directed graph with the Guideline Document as the root.

The major concepts in the first tier of the GEM hierarchy (below the root level) are Identity, Developer, Purpose, Intended Audience, Method of Development, Target Population, Knowledge Components, Testing, and Review Plan.  Each of these elements, in turn, contains one or more additional levels  of elements.

The GEM hierarchy is provided here in PDF and HTML format.
